It was a rough week but I am back on my feet. There were 4 fever days on the menu and there is an embargo for running with fever. Now it's time regain the good running feeling and get fit for one of the most important running competitions next sunday in Amsterdam (damloop). Greetings Lander
Fever and an otitis = a really bad combination.
The bright side: my body will have some extra rest. Greetings from sickboy. Some photos of the 10 km in Tilburg by Henri Salavarda including Guy, Stefan and the Stitz.5/9/2011 I think Patrick Stitzinger also known as the Stitz will run a superfast fall marathon.
Mark my words. Lander Digital television combined with a fast internet connection is a miracle to follow races on the other side of the world when you have a tight working and training schedule. Special thanks to all the athletes in Daegu for the great efforts and the big fights. The races were unbelievably inspirational. With outstanding performances by Bolt, Rudisha, Kirui, Pertile, Centrowitz and Farah but I was most impressed by Ezekiel Kemboi who won the 3000m steeple. Below the victory of the one and only Ezekiel Kemboi. Conclusion: The Kenyans are the kings in the distance running events. The results of the marathon. Kirui was outstanding. Below the top 20 these athletes are placed automatically for the olympic games in London 2012. Greetings Lander
I did not run fast in Lille with a slow 1h 06' 44" but it was a good end of a superb training period. The race in Lille was a lesson to run alone because I was not able to follow the leading group (stacked with sub 60' half marathoners) even in the first kilometers. I reached the 2km point in 5' 44" and the leading group was already running 15 seconds ahead of me. I have got a lot of work to do ;-) The weather was great with no wind and sunny, there was only one little problem caused by all the visitors (2 million over the whole weekend) for the biggest jumble sale in Europe. So some parts of the course the streets were packed, I had three collisions with visitors of the jumble sale. Overal it was a great weekend with the coach and Eva. My next race will be the Dam tot Damloop in the Netherlands. Below some pictures by Salavarda with the winner Geoffrey Kipsang in full action. Greetings Lander |
