So far this training week went perfect, tomorrow it's time for a 12 km tempo run and I like this type of training.
During last week the coach and I discussed our plan for a spring marathon in detail. It's great to have a coach like Salavarda, I owe him a lot.
At the end of January my marathon training will start. My next race will be a half marathon in Egmond aan Zee (NL) on 8 January. Greetings Lander

It is time to work on my leg speed, so I ran the 5 km in Meeuwen. Marc Corstjens brought a good field at the starting line including the reigning european XC champion Atelaw Bekele. Salavarda entered Dame Tasame and me in this race. I came in as seventh in 14'28", my legs exploded totally after the first of four laps (overexcited ; ) ). Dame won this race four times in the past and has a amazing kick at the end of a race.
Who won? The answer lies in the pictures below by Henri Salavarda.  One tip: the podium consisted out Maarten Van Steen, Dame and Atelaw. All three fantastic athletes.  Greetings.

These shoes are equal to lots of fun. Today I will run 1 hour 30 minutes but first another dinner party.

Preview of my next race: 5 km Speedrun in Meeuwen

So far I know the following athletes will take part: Dame Faisa Tasama, Guy Fays, Wesley De Kerpel, Maarten Van Steen, Atelaw Bekele and Krijn Van Koolwijk.

Atelaw is the favorite but I would not underestimate the five other guys they all have superb credits and a great kick at the end of the race. Pesonally I am really looking forward to this race.
Greetings Lander

I was far from impressive during my last training week but during my half marathon race in Dronten I felt oké. The first four kilometers were reached in 11'58" but then we came in open space with a strong headwind, my pace went from about 3'00" to 3'19"/km. This was way to slow for running a decent time.
At the 6 km point the second group in the race came back to me including Van Damme, Htaibi and Van Den Broek. We alternated very well, so thank you guys!  We ran together to the finish and at 19,5 km Htaibi injected an acceleration, I could follow and threw down the hammer from the 20 km point. The last km I ran in 2'52" to came in fourth. Thanks to Salavarda my last km during a race is becoming fast, in a real sprint I am still a bird for the cat. The other Belgians  Stefan Van Den Broek came in as 8th and my teammate Guy Fays as 10th.
My next race will be the speedrun from Golazo athlete manager Marc Corstjens in Meeuwen.  Now it's time for a light shake out run, a box training in the afternoon and a dancing (birthday) party in the evening. Greetings Lander

Because I can't choose.

An ancient Chinese philosopher once said that the inability to choose is a weakness.
A highlander once said: "Never listen to Chinese philosophers"

I really like William Lawson's and I do not even drink alcohol. Great marketing team behind this brand. Five days till my next race, time to get the body and mind in racing mode. Lander
